Irritatingly, the program through my health insurance that I used (emphasis on the past tense) to contract my gym has dropped my gym, so I dropped that program. The gym itself is like twice what I was paying, so I looked around. I found that my hometown park district offered a great deal for seniors (the only part about being 60 that I have liked so far!) for just $23 a month.

So I signed up and I get full use of the facility when it is available, including indoor track, weight room, basketball courts, and more. I can even take any class being offered there. Not a bad deal at all.

I christened the new membership by taking a short walk on the track, and then doing an upper body workout in the weight room. It was great. They even have a decent heavy bag there, so next time, I’ll bring my gloves.
